EVT3D
About

A small team, building the tool event designers needed.

EVT3D is made by a small, independent team. We aren't a big software company and we don't pretend to be one. We started with a question every designer hears before a show: what will it actually look like? We've been building the answer ever since.

It started with a book about designing events.

EVT3D was founded by Troy Halsey, an event designer and the author of Freelancer's Guide to Corporate Event Design (Focal Press, 2010). The book sets down the working rules of corporate staging: the six stage configurations, how tall to build a deck, and how to step it, rail it and ramp it.

Those rules didn't stay on the page. When EVT3D's Event Wizard picks a stage configuration, sets a deck height or adds steps, it follows them. Our free guides explain the same rules in plain language.

The venue catalog grew the same way, from years of modeling real ballrooms, convention centers and theaters for real shows. It lists more than 640 venues, all of them already modeled. A growing number are uploaded and ready to place; the rest are marked Coming Soon until they land.

Small on purpose.

Troy leads EVT3D, and a handful of people build it with him. There are only a few of us, and that shapes how we work.

You reach the people who build it.

Questions and bug reports come straight to us, not to a call center. The person who reads your message is usually the person who fixes it.

It gets better every week.

We ship improvements almost every day: new builders, more venues, faster loading, and fixes for the things users tell us about.

We say what isn't done.

Features still in progress are marked Coming soon, and so are venues we haven't uploaded yet. If something doesn't work yet, we'd rather tell you than hide it.

Try it before you trust us.

The free plan needs no credit card and there's nothing to install. If EVT3D helps you sell a show, great. If it doesn't, tell us why.

Built for event people everywhere.

Designers and producers use EVT3D around the world, so the site and the app are in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese and Tagalog. If something reads wrong in your language, tell us and we'll fix it.

Lay out your next show in a real venue at real size, then send your client a link they can walk through on any device.
