Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 4, 2026
This policy explains what EVT3D collects, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what we need to run the product, analytics is consent-based, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising.
§01Who we are
EVT3D is operated by The Halsey Group, LLC. For anything privacy-related, contact support@evt3d.app.
§02What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in through our identity provider (Auth0), we receive your name, email address, and profile picture, plus the account identifier used to link your projects to you.
- Content you create and upload. Projects, scenes, 3D models, textures, images, floorplans, and related metadata are stored so the product works.
- Messages you send us. Contact-form submissions, vendor and venue requests, and newsletter signups include the email address and details you provide.
- Billing details. For paid plans, credits, and venue unlocks we keep the records needed for invoicing and accounting.
- How much you use the app. While you are signed in, EVT3D records that your session is open and whether it is actually in use — derived from whether the tab is in front of you and whether there has been recent mouse or keyboard input. We keep a daily total per account, along with the projects you opened that day. When you sign in, sign out, or come back to the app, we also note the approximate location of the connection — city, region and country, from our hosting provider's network, never the IP address. It tells us whether the product is being used and which parts get left running; it is not keystroke logging, it does not record what you click or design, and it is never used for advertising or shared with anyone.
- Operational logs. Server logs and application error reports (used to keep the service running and fix bugs) may include your account identifier and technical details like browser type.
§03Site analytics (consent-based)
With your consent — asked once via the banner — we use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand page usage and performance. These are privacy-focused tools: no advertising identifiers, no cross-site tracking. If you choose Essential only, they never load. You can change your choice anytime in §07 below.
Independently of that choice, our public marketing pages keep anonymous aggregate counters. For each event we record what happened (e.g. “landing page was viewed,” “the pricing section was scrolled into view,” “the sign-up button was clicked”), a coarse page path, the referring site’s host, the campaign tag on the link you followed if it had one, which button or page section it relates to, and a country derived from your IP address. The IP address itself is never stored.
These counters use no cookies and no identifier of any kind — no visitor ID, no session ID, no fingerprinting. Because nothing links two events together, we cannot reconstruct any individual’s path through the site, and two visits by the same person are indistinguishable from two different people. To avoid counting the same page twice we store a small “already counted” marker in your browser’s session storage, which your browser discards when you close the tab.
If you create an account after clicking sign up, we record once — against your new account — which page and campaign link brought you, so we can tell which of our own pages are useful. That record is never created for anonymous visitors, and never added to the counters above.
§04Shared-scene viewer analytics (consent-based)
When someone opens a scene through a share link, the link’s owner can see how it is being viewed. Two things happen:
- Every link open is counted, whatever you choose next: we record that the link was opened, with an approximate location (city, region, country), your browser and device type, and the referring site.
- Interaction analytics only with your consent. The welcome screen asks first. If you accept, we also record a visit summary — session length, new or returning visit, approximate location (city, region, country and approximate coordinates), browser, operating system and device type, and the referring site — and what you did in the scene (cameras switched, objects focused, chair view, info opened). If you decline, we record only an anonymous “declined” tally.
What we do not collect or keep:
- No name, email, or other personal identifier.
- Your IP address is never saved with any of this. Approximate location comes from our hosting provider’s network; the IP itself is used only briefly to rate-limit requests and discarded within minutes.
- Images dragged into a viewed scene stay in the browser — never uploaded.
Interaction events and visit summaries auto-delete after 180 days.
§05Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser’s storage holds:
- Authentication tokens from Auth0 so you stay signed in (essential).
- Consent choices —
evt_site_consent(site analytics) andevt_consent(shared-scene viewer analytics). - An anonymous viewer ID —
evt_vid, kept only if you accept shared-scene analytics, so a return visit counts as returning. - One cookie, your language —
EVT_LOCALEremembers the language you picked in the language menu. It holds only the language code. - Session-only counting markers —
evt_pub_once_*andevt_pub_attr, used so a page view is counted once rather than on every refresh. These live in session storage and your browser discards them when the tab closes. They contain no identifier. - Functional preferences such as UI settings, so the app remembers how you like it.
§06How we use and share data
We use the data above to operate, secure, and improve EVT3D, to respond to you, and to bill for paid features. We never sell your data and never use it for third-party advertising. It is shared only with the infrastructure providers that run the service:
- Auth0 — sign-in and identity.
- Vercel — application hosting, and analytics if you consent.
- DigitalOcean — file storage and 3D asset processing.
- Database hosting — project and account data storage.
- Email delivery providers — transactional email and the newsletter.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of EVT3D and its users.
§07Your choices
Analytics. Manage your consent here:
Current site analytics setting: Not decided yet
Reset clears both the site-wide choice and the shared-scene viewer choice, so you’ll be asked again next time.
Newsletter. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
Access, correction, deletion. Email support@evt3d.app to request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and content. We honor applicable data-protection rights (including GDPR and CCPA where they apply) and respond within the timelines those laws require.
§08Retention and security
Account and project data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymized after account deletion, except where we must retain records for legal or accounting purposes. Viewer analytics events and visit summaries auto-delete after 180 days (ask us and we will delete them sooner). Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to what operating the service requires, and credentials are managed through our identity provider rather than stored by us.
§09Children
EVT3D is a professional tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
§10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves; the effective date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced in the product or by email. See also our Terms of Service.
