#Venues
Start your design inside a real room — not a blank scene.
Venues are the 3D building blocks of where your event happens. Hotel ballrooms, convention center halls, theaters, arenas, function rooms — modeled to real-world dimensions with the ceiling, walls, floor, airwalls, built-in lighting, and architectural details in place. Drop a venue into a new project and you're starting your design inside a space that actually exists, not on a blank floor plane.
#What's in the catalog
EVT3D ships with a catalog of over 640 real-world event spaces curated from 12 years of authored venue models. The catalog covers a wide range of properties — chain hotels (Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Gaylord, Ritz-Carlton, MGM, Disney resorts), independent convention centers, theaters, and one-off venues. A growing share are fully modeled and ready to place; the rest are listed as Queued — you can see them in the library, and if your event is at one of them you can request a Rush build to move it to the front of the line.
#Three things every venue carries
- Venue — the property itself. "Hilton Midtown," "Walter E. Washington Convention Center," "Walt Disney World Dolphin."
- Room — the specific space inside that property. "Grand Ballroom," "Hall D," "Pacific Hall." Venue + Room makes the full name: "Hilton Midtown — Grand Ballroom."
- Operator — for chain venues, the brand that runs the property. "Hilton" runs dozens of properties; "MGM Resorts," "Marriott," "Disney" all do the same. Independent venues have no operator.
Every venue also carries its country, state, city, capacity (where known), and a thumbnail.
#What it does
#Library Venues tab
- Filter by Country, State, City, Operator, Status, or Floorplans. Find every Hilton property. Or every space in Las Vegas. Or every venue that's Ready to place. Floorplans narrows the list to venues with a reference floorplan attached.
- Sort by name, date, or price (Price: Low → High / Price: High → Low).
- Search across the venue name, hotel/property, city, state, country, and operator.
- Status on every tile. Ready venues (place-able now) carry no badge. Queued venues (in the catalog but not yet built) show 🏗 Request Rush; venues already flagged for a prioritized build show ⏳ Rush Requested.
- Per-venue price. Visible on the tile. Each venue's pricing is set per property.
#Place a venue into a project
Click a Ready venue tile, then click Import. The whole room appears — ceiling, walls, floor, built-in fixtures — instantly. Your designs anchor to a real room, not to nothing.
#Built-in venue slots
Every venue is organized into named sections so the editor and the producer can talk about it cleanly:
- Ceilings — the overhead structure: drape, rigging plates, decorative beams, trusses built into the space.
- Walls — the fixed perimeter: back walls, side walls, hard sets.
- Floors — the floor surface: carpet, vinyl, raised stage decks built into the room.
- Airwalls — the movable partitions in convention-center ballrooms that subdivide the room into smaller breakout configurations.
- Lighting — the venue's built-in fixtures: chandeliers, house wash, downlights. Distinct from the event lighting you'll add.
- Options — venue-specific extras: decorative columns, fountains, raised platforms, podium positions.
Anything you drag into the venue in the hierarchy lands in a seventh section, Unsorted. (The venue editor also has a Floorplan Shell slot that holds the room's 2D plan.)
These slots show up as named sections in the hierarchy, so you can hide the ceiling to look down into the room, toggle airwalls to see a divided configuration, or audition your event lighting against the house lights off.
#Rush a Queued venue
If you need a venue that's in the catalog but not yet built:
- Click the venue tile. The Request this venue window opens.
- Fill in the basics. Your name and Email (both required), Company / team, Event date (if known), and Anything else we should know? — booth size, deadlines, room configurations, AV inventory you'll need accommodated.
- Send it. Click Send request. The window confirms Request received, and the EVT3D team comes back within one business day with the exact quote and a timeline. No payment is required to request.
#Ground details auto-handle
When a venue is in the scene, EVT3D automatically hides the default ground shadow plane and turns off the workspace grid (you can turn the grid back on in settings). The venue's own floor is the floor; the surrounding environment is what's in the venue model. No competing planes, no z-fighting.
#Geographic awareness
Every venue has its country, state, and city, and (where filled in) its street address. This powers the geographic filters and search in the library.
#How you use it
- Start a new project (or open an existing one).
- Open the Library, switch to the Venues tab.
- Filter and search. Pick the country and state, or filter by your client's hotel chain. Type the property name into search.
- Click a Ready tile, then Import. The venue lands in your scene.
- Build inside it. Your stage, audience, LED walls, props, branding — all anchored to the real space, sized against real dimensions.
- Use slot toggles. Hide the ceiling for a top-down view. Hide the house lighting to audition your event-light design. Toggle airwalls to mock a divided room configuration.
- Need a venue that isn't Ready? Click its 🏗 Request Rush tile and send the request. The team will come back with a quote and a timeline.
#Why it matters
Designers waste a lot of time recreating the room. Floor plates, column positions, ceiling heights, airwall locations — the structural facts of the venue change every conversation and they're easy to get wrong from a PDF floor plan. With a built venue, you spend zero minutes modeling the box and all your minutes designing the event inside it. Your sightlines are real. Your dimensions are real. Your capacity calculations are real. The room is real.
Once a venue is in your project, every downstream EVT3D feature — Audience Builder, LED Wall Builder, Chair View, Share Mode, VR — works against a faithful model of where the show is actually going to happen.
